"Planting the Word"

About Charging People Money for Your Messages

I want to share with you what the Lord told me long ago. I used to believe that I should preach for free and give away wisdom for free. Freely you have received, freely give (1). But in 2023, the Lord asked me to start charging people to read my messages on my website, and it's so easy to set up where I can charge you to enter my website.

The Lord asked me to start charging people because He said that people were printing my messages off and selling them for $500 a copy. The Lord also told me that people were saying that the messages were theirs, and not mine. That they were the authors. That's why God told me to start charging people to read my messages.

It may be different for you. But God gave me a message that calmed me down. It's Philippians 1:18. God said that it doesn't matter if people are stealing my messages because what He and I want is still being accomplished, and that is to get people saved.

It doesn't matter if they said that they wrote my message or if they printed it off and sold it for $500 a copy, because it did its job and preached Christ, preached the Gospel and brought people to the Lord. That's all I care about as a genuine minister. The false prophets don't care about salvation. They want fame and money (2) because they're from the world, not from God (3).

But what I did was put a password on my website for a while to enter in. I do that when God tells me that people are abusing my messages. My website has options to opt in. Money, password or free. Right now, they're free.

God also told me about 1 Corinthians 9:14, that it's God's will for people to charge money for their services. "Those who preach the Gospel should live of the Gospel". You can charge money for your messages, unless it hinders the Gospel, or, causes someone weak in faith to stumble because they believe it should be free, and they turn from God because you charge (4).

We have to remember that the seed is the word of God, not money (5). Sowing money doesn't reap money in God's kingdom. Sowing God's messages to others about money by preaching it to them; planting it in the hearer's heart (6), is how to get a financial harvest of money from God.

But you can't choose which messages to sow because then you want money and not a relationship with God. Your value is money not the Presence of God (7). When God increases your finances, He does it with a financial word to you.

If you take that word and teach it to others, you get money from God because they got money from God through your message. The message is actually the Lord's message delivered to you. So, the seed is God's word, and it's not up to you which messages to sow. If you need money, ask God for a financial message to give to others. It's up to God. God gives the increase not your messages (8).

God gives you money when you preach (9). You can live off the Gospel and that's God's will. But I found that when I plant God's financial messages in people through my website, that the money comes from other venues. The money doesn't come from my website. That's how God does it.

God will give His church money when we relate to Him (10). He will use people and circumstances as His channels to give us money. Recently, I did a deal online and had financial windfalls from investing into crypto. That was God who did that because I told people what God told me about sowing the word, and not money. Sowing money-messages from God to me into people's hearts through preaching. That's how you make money with God. His word is the power of everything.

Jesus said, "Give, and it shall be given to you" (11). When I give to other Christians God's messages to me about money, I get money from God when that message takes root and grows inside them into a financial harvest for them. People think Lk. 6:38 means to give away what you need to get it back from God. That if you need money, you give money to your pastor or a charity. But God is talking about sowing the word into people's hearts to get a harvest for yourself from God. Not giving money to get money from God. See? The seed is the word of God, not your money. When you build your ministry on God's word like this, it will last (12).

God is saying now to me according to Luke 6:38 that whatever you give will be given back to you. You can send money to a charity or ministry and God will honor it. But money is not the seed. God's word is the seed.

Luke 8:4-15
New International Version

4 While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town,
he told this parable:
5 “A farmer went out to sow his seed.
As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path;
it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up.
6 Some fell on rocky ground,
and when it came up,
the plants withered because they had no moisture.
7 Other seed fell among thorns,
which grew up with it and choked the plants.
8 Still other seed fell on good soil.
It came up and yielded a crop,
a hundred times more than was sown.”
When he said this, he called out,
Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”
9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant.
10 He said,
The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you,
but to others I speak in parables, so that,
“‘though seeing, they may not see;
though hearing, they may not understand.’ [Isa. 6:9]
11 “This is the meaning of the parable:
The seed is the word of God.
12 Those along the path are the ones who hear,
and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts,
so that they may not believe and be saved.
13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it,
but they have no root.
They believe for a while,
but in the time of testing they fall away.
14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear,
but as they go on their way they are choked by lifes worries, riches and pleasures,
and they do not mature.
15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart,
who hear the word, retain it,
and by persevering produce a crop.

The Sowing & Reaping Principle

Genesis 8:21-22
Authorized (King James) Version

21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour;
and the Lord said in his heart,
I will not again curse the ground any more for mans sake;
for the imagination of mans heart is evil from his youth;
neither will I again smite any more every thing living,
as I have done
22 While the earth remaineth,
seedtime and harvest,
and cold and heat,
and summer and winter,
and day and night shall not cease.

Luke 6:36-38
Authorized (King James) Version

36 Be ye therefore merciful,
as your Father also is merciful
37 Judge not,
and ye shall not be judged:
condemn not,
and ye shall not be condemned:
forgive,
and ye shall be forgiven
38 give,
and it shall be given unto you;
good measure,
pressed down,
and shaken together,
and running over,
shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

I used Luke 8:4-15 to support planting God's financial words to His people in other people's hearts through preaching to get a financial harvest from God. I used that to show you Lk. 8:11, which says that the seed is the word of God, to say that the seed to plant is God's word, and not your money.

In context, that passage isn't talking about finances, but about salvation. The "word of salvation". I hear in the Spirit some who read this message say that my message is out of context with Lk. 8:4-15.

Both the word of finances and the word of salvation and the word of healing and every other word from God, are all surmised under the term "seedtime and harvest" from Gen. 8:22. The word of salvation in the passage Lk. 8:4-15 is out of context with the word of finances. But it's not out of context with the seedtime and harvest principle. Also called "the sowing and reaping principle". Both finances and salvation fall under seedtime and harvest.

Jesus in Lk. 8:4-15 is talking about using the sowing and reaping principle for salvation. Jesus in my message is talking about using the sowing and reaping principle for finances. The verse in Lk. 8 about salvation that's in context with God's message above to me about finances, is Lk. 8:11, that the seed is the word of God. The seed isn't money in church. Whether it's for salvation or finances. the seed is God's word.

I can see this because I know the word. Whatever reason you have that makes you say that my financial message is out of context with Jesus' salvation message in Lk. 8, tells me that you don't know the Bible well enough to say that I'm out of context, because I'm saying that the seed is God's word, not money.

The Holy Spirit applied the sowing and reaping principle to finances in my message because seedtime and harvest shall exist as long as the earth does, as God said in Gen. 8:22. I know what I'm talking about, but you don't know what my message is about. People that know the word and know the Lord will say, "Yes and amen" to my message (13).

After Gen. 8:22 above, I added in Lk. 6:36-38 to show you that Jesus is doing the same thing that I am. He applies the sowing and reaping principle to showing mercy and then applies it to everything.

This means that the context of Lk. 6:36-38 is mercy and judgement. In v. 36, Jesus is talking about mercy. In v. 37 He's talking about judgement. In v. 38, He broadens it and applies it to everything ... read it.

When He goes from mercy and judgement and then says "give, and it shall be given back to you". He doesn't say "Give mercy and judgement, and they shall be given back to you". But He implies that. That's called keeping it in context. Giving mercy and judgment to get it back is implied in v. 38 because that's what Jesus is talking about in the previous verses 36 and 37. You can tell what a verse or passage is talking about by reading the verses around it to get the topic and keep it in context. But giving mercy and judgement to get it back is not stated directly by Jesus in v. 38. It's implied in the two previous verses.

That's what Jesus is talking about. But instead of saying, "give mercy and judgement", He implied it because His point was to apply the sowing and reaping principle, not just to mercy and judgement, but to everything.

Thus, Jesus intentionally left out the words "mercy and judgement" in v. 38 and simply said, "Give, and it shall be given back to you", because the sowing and reaping principle applies to everything in God's word and in life. Jesus implied mercy and judgement and included everything else with them to the sowing and reaping principle.

Notice the word "it" in v. 38 instead of the words "mercy and judgement" ... what is "it"? Whatever you give ... not just mercy and judgement. But Jesus is implying in Lk. 6:36-38 that the sowing and reaping principle, or seedtime and harvest, applies to "it all" ... everything else in life.

This is what Jesus did with my financial message above. He applied the sowing and reaping principle used in salvation in Lk. 8:4-15 to finances in my message, because like in Lk. 6:36-38, seedtime and harvest apply to more than just mercy and judgement. But also, to salvation everything else in life, like money.

The Holy Spirit wants me to add in something else about the sowing and reaping principle. That it not only includes salvation, mercy, judgement and finances, but also the rapture comes from the sowing and reaping principle. What is the rapture? The resurrection from the dead for those in Christ, right? Read 1 Cor. 15:35-44.

1 Corinthians 15:35-44
New International Version

{Paraphrased}

The Resurrection Body

35 But someone will ask,
“How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”
36 What a foolish question!
You will find the answer in your own garden!
When you put a seed into the ground it doesn’t grow into a plant unless it “dies” first.
37 And when the green shoot comes up out of the seed,
it is very different from the seed you first planted.
For all you put into the ground is a dry little seed of wheat or whatever it is you are planting,
38 But God gives it a body as he has determined,
and to each kind of seed he gives its own body.
39 Not all flesh is the same:
People have one kind of flesh,
animals have another,
birds another and fish another.
40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies;
but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind,
and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another.
41 The sun has one kind of splendor,
the moon another and the stars another;
and star differs from star in splendor.
42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead.
The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;
43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory;
it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;
44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

You Can't Sell the Holy Spirit

Or His Salvation

Acts 8:8-24
Authorized (King James) Version

8 And there was great joy in that city.
9 But there was a certain man, called Simon,
which beforetime in the same city used sorcery,
and bewitched the people of Samaria,
giving out that himself was some great one:
10 to whom they all gave heed,
from the least to the greatest,
saying,
This man is the great power of God.
11 And to him they had regard,
because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God,
and the name of Jesus Christ,
they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed also:
and when he was baptized,
he continued with Philip,
and wondered,
beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 who, when they were come down, prayed for them,
that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (for as yet he was fallen upon none of them:
only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given,
he offered them money,
19 saying,
Give me also this power,
that on whomsoever I lay hands,
he may receive the Holy Ghost.
20 But Peter said unto him,
Thy money perish with thee,
because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter:
for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God,
if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness,
and in the bond of iniquity.
24 Then answered Simon, and said,
Pray ye to the Lord for me,
that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

Also, in my message above, I said that it is God's will for preachers to charge money for their services. What I am telling you is what the Bible says in 1 Cor. 9:3-23. Read it ... you can't sell the Lord and His salvation for money. That's not what I mean by saying that God says that you can charge money for your services. This is why the Lord told me to paste above Acts 8:8-24 about Simon the sorcerer, who thought that the Holy Spirit and the gift of God could be bought with money. You cannot sell what God gives to man as gifts. Don't charge for evangelistic services to get people saved. Salvation is free from God.

I'm not implying to sell salvation, God's gifts and the Holy Spirit at church. I'm telling you what 1 Cor. 9:3-23 is saying. Read it and see that you can charge for your services. After church and getting people saved, charge for your literature and books. Most people ask for donations. More mature in the word Christians charge money at set prices for their books.

1 Corinthians 9:3-23
Living Bible

{Paraphrased}

This is my answer to those who question my rights.
4 Or don’t I have any rights at all?
Can’t I claim the same privilege the other apostles have of being a guest in your homes?
5 {Couldn’t I bring along a Christian wife} on these trips just as the other disciples do,
and as the Lord’s brothers do, and as Peter does?
6 And must Barnabas and I alone keep working for our living while you supply these others?
7 What soldier in the army has to pay his own expenses?
And have you ever heard of a farmer who harvests his crop and doesn’t have the right to eat some of it? What shepherd takes care of a flock of sheep and goats and isn’t allowed to drink some of the milk?
8 And I’m not merely quoting the opinions of men as to what is right.
I’m telling you what God’s law says.
9 For in the law God gave to Moses he said that you must not put a muzzle on an ox
to keep it from eating when it is treading out the wheat.
Do you suppose God was thinking only about oxen when he said this?
10 Wasn’t he also thinking about us?
Of course he was.
He said this to {imply} that Christian workers should be paid by those they help.
Those who do the plowing and threshing should expect some share of the harvest.
11 We have planted good spiritual seed in your souls.
Is it too much to ask, in return, for mere food and clothing?
12 You give them to others who preach to you, and you should.
But shouldn’t we have an even greater right to them?
Yet we have never used this right but supply our own needs without your help.
We have never demanded payment of any kind for fear that, if we did,
you might be less interested in our message to you from Christ.
13 Don’t you realize
that God told those working in his temple to take for their own needs some of the food
brought there as gifts to him?
And those who work at the altar of God get a share of the food
that is brought by those offering it to the Lord.
14 In the same way
the Lord has given orders
that those who preach the Gospel should be supported by those who accept it.
15 Yet I have never asked you for one penny.
And I am not writing this to {imply} that I would like to start now.
In fact,
I would rather die of hunger than lose the satisfaction I get from preaching to you without charge.
16 For just preaching the Gospel isn’t any special credit to me
—I couldn’t keep from preaching it if I wanted to.
I would be utterly miserable.
Woe unto me if I don’t.
17 If I were volunteering my services of my own free will,
then the Lord would give me a special reward;
but that is not the situation,
for God has picked me out and given me this sacred trust,
and I have no choice.
18 Under this circumstance,
what is my pay?
It is the special joy I get from preaching the Good News without expense to anyone,
never demanding my rights.
19 And this has a real advantage:
I am not bound to obey anyone just because he pays my salary;
yet I have freely and happily become a servant of any and all so that I can win them to Christ.
20 When I am with the Jews I seem as one of them
so that they will listen to the Gospel and I can win them to Christ.
When I am with Gentiles
who follow Jewish customs and ceremonies I don’t argue,
even though I don’t agree,
because I want to help them.
21 When with the heathen
I agree with them as much as I can,
except of course that I must always do what is right as a Christian.
And so, by agreeing, I can win their confidence and help them too.
22 When I am with those whose consciences bother them easily,
I don’t act as though I know it all
and don’t say they are foolish;
the result is that they are willing to let me help them.
Yes, whatever a person is like,
I try to find common ground with him so that he will let me tell him about Christ
and let Christ save him.
23 I do this to get the Gospel to them
and also for the blessing I myself receive when I see them come to Christ.

Implied ... that's what I'm saying ...
