Knowing God is the meaning of life ...

Colossians 3:1-3
Modern English Version
1 If you then were raised with Christ, desire those things which are above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on earth.
3 For you are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Romans 6:1-13
Modern English Version
Dead to Sin but Alive in Christ
6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may increase?
2 God forbid! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
3 Do you not know that we who were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been united with Him in the likeness of His death, so shall we also be united with Him in the likeness of His resurrection,
6 knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with Him, so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we should no longer be slaves to sin.
7 For the one who has died is freed from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9 knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death has no further dominion over Him.
10 For the death He died, He died to sin once for all, but the life He lives, He lives to God.
11 Likewise, you also consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13 Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but yield yourselves to God, as those who are alive from the dead, and your bodies to God as instruments of righteousness.
2 Timothy 2:11-12
Authorized (King James) Version
11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12 if we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
What Is a True-Conversion?
"I want to die for Jesus because He died for Me".
"I want to die to be with God because Jesus died for me".
"My friend,
I left this life to be with God. I'm with Him. I don't want it. I found out so much about God's Son; that He's the one who died for man's sin, that I just didn't want this life. I'm with God now".
NOTE:
Hebrews 11:35
Modern English Version
35 Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured and did not accept deliverance, so that they might obtain a better resurrection.
This is not about being suicidal. Wanting to die to be with God is not being suicidal. You're not suicidal when you love God more than life and family ... you want to die to be with Him ... to be suicidal is about stress and not wanting to live because of it. But that is not God and that is not what I'm talking about. When the Holy Spirit has made you love God more than life, yes, you want to die ... but die to be with God. It means that you love God in the Holy Spirit like God loves you ... you would rather die than live without Him ...
2 Corinthians 12:1-6
Modern English Version
Visions and Revelations
1 Doubtless it is not profitable for me to boast. So I will move on to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2 I knew a man in Christ over fourteen years ago—whether in the body or out of the body I cannot tell, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven.
3 And I knew that such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I cannot tell, God knows—
4 was caught up into paradise and heard inexpressible words not permitted for a man to say.
5 Of such a person, I will boast. Yet of myself I will not boast, except in my weaknesses.
6 For if I desire to boast, I will not be a fool, for I will be speaking the truth. But now I resist, lest anyone should think of me above that which he sees me to be or hears from me.
Revelation 12:11
Authorized (King James) Version
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Luke 14:25-35
Modern English Version
The Cost of Eternal Life
25 Large crowds went with Him. And He turned and said to them,
26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.
27 And whoever does not bear his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.
28 “For who among you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost to see whether he has resources to complete it?
29 Otherwise, perhaps, after he has laid the foundation and is not able to complete it, all who see it will begin to mock him,
30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to complete it.’
31 “Or what king, going to wage war against another king, does not sit down first and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 Otherwise, while the other is yet at a distance, he sends a delegation and requests conditions of peace.
33 So likewise, any of you who does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.
Tasteless Salt
34 “Salt is good. But if the salt has lost its saltiness, how shall it be made salty?
35 It is fit neither for the land nor for the manure pile. So men throw it out.
“He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Philippians 1:20-25
New International Version
20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know!
23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;
24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.
25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,
John 12:24-26
Modern English Version
Sown in death, raised to eternal life
24 Truly, truly I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.
25 He who loves his life will lose it. And he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
26 If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me. Where I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
John 12:24-26
Death is the way to God
You will see your dead loved ones again
The apostle Paul said the same thing in 1 Corinthians 15:35-44 that Jesus did in John 12:24-26, that, we will all rise from the dead like a seed that is planted, or sown, because it first has to die to live. God wants to say to you that your dead loved ones are not dead and gone forever. They are alive in another world in another life form and can see and hear you, though you cannot see and hear them (Lk. 16:19-30/ 2 Kings 6:15-17).
1 Corinthians 15:33-58
Modern English Version
{Paraphrased}
Sown in death, raised to eternal life
33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
34 Awake to righteousness and do not sin, for some do not have the knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
The Resurrection Body
35 But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? With what body do they come?”
36 You fool! What you sow is not made alive unless it dies.
37 When you sow, you do not sow the body that shall be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain.
38 Then God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh. There is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fish, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies. The glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars. One star differs from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption.
43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power.
44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 So it is written, “The first man Adam was made a living soul.” The last Adam was made a life-giving spirit.
46 However, that which is spiritual is not first, but the natural, and then the spiritual.
47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second man was the Lord from heaven.
48 As was the man of dust, so are those who are of dust; and as is the man of heaven, so are those who are of heaven.
49 As we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.
50 Now this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all {die}, but we shall all be changed {physically}.
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, for the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we {who are alive when this happens} shall be changed {instantly and physically with the dead in Christ}.
53 For this corruptible will put on incorruption, and this mortal will put on immortality.
54 When this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then the saying that is written shall come to pass: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory {over death} through our Lord Jesus Christ!
58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Modern English Version
{Paraphrased}
You will see your dead loved ones again (verse 14)
The Lord’s Coming
13 But I would not have you ignorant, brothers, concerning those who are {dead in Christ}, that you may not grieve as others who have no hope {in the resurrection of the dead}.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and arose again, so God will bring with Him those who {are dead} in Jesus {this implies that you will see your dead loved ones again in the resurrection, or the rapture}.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will not precede those who are asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall be forever with the Lord.
18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
