A Personal Testimony: What God Is Doing To Make Me Leave This Area

Better Late Than Never

Hebrews 3:12-19

Modern English Version

12 Be attentive, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, and you depart from the living God.

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence firmly to the end,

15 while it is said:

“Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

16 For who were they who heard and rebelled? Was it not all of those who came out of Egypt, led by Moses?

17 And with whom was He grieved for forty years? Was it not with those who had sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who disobeyed?

19 So we see that they could not enter because of unbelief.

Proverbs 29:1

Modern English Version

29 He who is often reproved, yet hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

God's Urgent Call to Move: A Testament to Divine Timing

In May 2024, God spoke to me with a clear warning: a great flood is coming to North Dakota from Florida. The Atlantic Ocean will transform this state into a beachfront. He instructed me to move by March 2025. Yet nine months have passed, and I'm still here.

The Divine Pressure Begins

Recently, strange events have been unfolding—each one pushing me toward obedience:

First, I incorrectly completed my medical insurance review paperwork and lost my coverage. It took two weeks to resolve, with approval expected next week.

The very next day, I slipped on ice and sustained a sports hernia—without medical insurance. I endured the pain without treatment. Though I could have gone to the emergency room (they must treat you before billing insurance), I didn't go. Looking back, this seemed unusual.

God's Sovereignty Over the Heart

Then something shifted. For reasons I now understand as divine intervention, I decided to search for a new apartment. After nine months of delay, I simply felt compelled to look. A friend had recently shown me Facebook Marketplace, so I browsed the apartment listings.

Within minutes, I found a two-bedroom apartment—$200 less than my current rent—located in the very town where my daughter and grandchildren live. Just months earlier, they had asked me to move closer so we could support one another. If that wasn't God's hand at work, I don't know what is.

I passed the background check and can move in this weekend.

More Miraculous Confirmations

The same day I secured the apartment, the main water tank in my town broke. Our water supply became contaminated—the only town in the entire state affected. This reinforced my decision to leave.

Here's what's remarkable: I got the apartment before the water crisis occurred. I'm not fleeing contaminated water; I'm obeying God's command to be with my family and leave this area.

Divine Provision in Perfect Timing

A couple of days before securing the apartment—and before the water ban—I pawned my drum set. I didn't need the money at the time, but I felt compelled to do it. I received exactly $20 more than the apartment deposit required, though I didn't know about the apartment yet and had already spent most of the money.

Then God's plan became clear: pawn the drums, get the money, secure the apartment—all before the water crisis hit. Though I'd spent the money, another miracle occurred: my family provided the funds I needed to move in. I'm leaving this weekend.

Protected by His Hand

Even in the chaos, God protected me. The morning I got the apartment and the water pipe broke, my water shut off at 8 AM (one hour after securing the apartment). At 9:15 AM, it returned. I washed dishes, brushed my teeth, shaved, and showered—completely unaware of the danger.

I never got sick.

Days later, the city confirmed that the water on my side of the break wasn't contaminated. While others suffered from the contaminated water, I lived normally, protected by divine providence.

The Lesson: Delayed Obedience

Count how many times you see the Lord working to move me away from this place. Like Lot in Genesis, whose angels physically grabbed him by the hand to force him out of Sodom, God has warned me: if I don't obey and move, angels will appear and take me by the hand.

When I pawned the drums, I asked God if I should. He said, "Sell them to move." I didn't understand at the time—that's why I delayed. I questioned whether it was truly God speaking. But now I see: God orchestrated everything so I'd have the money to move this week.

God said I was supposed to move on Monday, but I spent the money because I didn't understand what He meant. Now I understand. Though I'm barely able to hear Him clearly right now, I'm listening—and He's still speaking.

We Christians Are Barely Saved

I Barely Made It Out That Open Door to A New Life

1 Peter 4:17-19

Living Bible

17 For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin first among God’s own children. And if even we who are Christians must be judged, what terrible fate awaits those who have never believed in the Lord?

18 If the righteous are barely saved, what chance will the godless have?

19 So if you are suffering according to God’s will, keep on doing what is right and trust yourself to the God who made you, for he will never fail you.

World without end. Amen.
