Romans 10:17 Authorized (King James) Version

{Paraphrased}

17 So then faith {in Jesus} comes by hearing, and hearing by {what} the word of God {the prophecies in the Old Testament say about Him}.

2 Timothy 3 Authorized (King James) Version

{Paraphrased}

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: From such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with diverse lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth {about salvation through faith in Jesus}. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses {Bk of Jasher: Ex. 1:15; 7:10-12/ Num. 22:22}, so do these also resist the truth {that faith in Jesus is the only way to God}: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest to all men, as {Jannes and Jambres} also was {the sin of idolatry - their serpents were eaten up by Moses' serpent}. 10 But you have fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which came to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: But out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yes, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned them; 15 and that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise {about} salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished for all good works.

What is a False Prophet?

2 Timothy 3:4, 5, 7

Authorized (King James) Version

{Paraphrased}

4 ...lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof:

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth

{about salvation through faith in Jesus}.

13 ...Evil men and seducers...

What is the Truth?

John 17:17 Authorized (King James) Version 17 Sanctify them through Your Truth: Your Word {the Bible} is Truth.

The Truth is the Bible and what it says about Jesus. The truth is that the only way to God is faith in Jesus (Jn. 14:5/ Acts 4:12). If you study the Bible you will know this Truth about Jesus. People who don't study the Bible don't know this and they resist this truth that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus. But if you study the Bible, you will not become like that. They are ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the Truth about faith in Jesus because they don't study the Bible. But the scriptures make us wise when we study them so that we know that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus.

Romans 10 :17 means 2 Timothy 3:1-17

2 Tim. 3:15 means that faith in Jesus comes through Bible study. This means that when you study the Bible that you won't be able to be deceived by evil men and seducers; false teachers, who don't know the Bible. The Bible is going to teach you about salvation through faith in Christ. This is the Truth. If you stay in Bible study, you will not be deceived by the false teachers in these last days.

So, this faith in Jesus, that faith in Jesus is the only way to God, comes through hearing the Truth, the Word of God. The Truth that salvation comes through faith in Jesus, comes through reading the Bible. The Bible connects us to Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:15 Authorized (King James) Version

{Paraphrased}

15 Study {the Bible} to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed {of being a Bible Toting Christian}, rightly dividing the Word of Truth {when it speaks to you, Jn. 14:26}.
