1 Thessalonians 5:9

Modern English Version

{Paraphrased}

For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation {from it} by our Lord Jesus Christ {when He returns},

The Wrath of God is the Fury that God's Son Executes for God

On the Day That He Returns

Revelation 19:11-16
Modern English Version

{Paraphrased}

Jesus The Rider on the White Horse

11 I saw heaven opened. And there was a white horse. He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.

12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many crowns. He has a name written, that no one knows but He Himself.

13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood. His name is called The Word of God.

14 The armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.

15 Out of His mouth proceeds a sharp sword, with which He may strike the nations. “He shall rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury and wrath of God the Almighty.

16 On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written:

KING OF KINGSAND LORD OF LORDS.

To the Believers in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture

Keep It in Context

I have heard believers in the Pre-Tribulation rapture misquote 1 Thessalonians 5:9 out of context every single time they use it to support their belief in the pre-tribulation rapture. To understand the context of a verse, you've got to look at the verses around it and read the whole chapter, and then look at the chapters around that chapter to understand the topic in context with the verses of every chapter.

To take a verse out of context means that you take a verse out of the meaning of a chapter or paragraph to support your beliefs. People do this who believe in a pre-tribulation rapture to support their views on the wrath of God.

Thus, let's read the entire chapter to see what the context of verse nine is to the wrath of God, and also define what the wrath of God is, and also what the Great Tribulation is, to show you that pre-tribulationers take this verse out of context, because there will be no pre-tribulation rapture according to these passages in this post.

I'm not condemning or fighting the pre-tribulation believers. But when a person takes a verse out of context, that means that they don't know the Bible, don't study it enough, are new or baby Christians, or they're lying and misquoting the passage to deceive you. Basically, they don't know what they're talking about. Whichever one (s) they are, God calls them "false prophets" (See Jeremiah chapter 14, chapter 23 and chapter 27. Also, Ezekiel chapter 13 and Matthew chapter 7).

I am seeing false prophets who teach the pre-tribulation rapture everywhere on social media and though they teach false prophecies, yet they have the Holy Spirit; are anointed and born-again. They are bringing people to Christ's Cross for salvation. But they don't know the Bible nor how to hear the voice of God teaching them truth about the rapture.

Witnessing is the Unity of the Faith

Ephesians 4:11-16

Modern English Version

11 He gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers,

12 for the equipping of the saints, for the work of service, and for the building up of the body of Christ, 13 until we all come into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, into a complete man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

14 so we may no longer be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the trickery of men, by craftiness with deceitful scheming.

15 But, speaking the truth in love, we may grow up in all things into Him, who is the head, Christ Himself,

16 from whom the whole body is joined together and connected by every joint and ligament, as every part effectively does its work and grows, building itself up in love.

I edited this passage in to say that though these Christians are teaching false prophecy about a pre-tribulation rapture, that they are truly saved and so we need to come together in the unity of the faith in an area that God calls us all to, and that is, witnessing, or preaching. None of us may get the deep things of God correct, but we are all spiritually gifted and anointed to bring people to Jesus.

It doesn't matter what denomination or church organization with its rules that you're from. Every church obeys the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15-20 to go out and teach and preach the Gospel to every nation.

I believe that if all the church's start witnessing to this world and stop fighting over doctrine, as verse 14 says to, that we can all speed up and hurry along the return of Jesus by getting the Gospel out to every nation (2 Pt. 3:12/ Mt. 24:14).

If you love God and want to leave this world in the rapture to be with Him forever, as 1 Thessalonians 4:17 says, then unite in the faith about witnessing, because witnessing is the one thing that God has assigned every Christian to do (Acts 1:8/ Mt. 28:18-20/ Mk. 16:15-20). We will fight over doctrine, but witnessing we are equipped to do (2 Cor. 3:4-6; 5:14-21).

The time that Jesus comes back is in God's authority alone (Mt. 24:36/ Acts 1:7). It's got nothing to do with us other than to speed it up by witnessing (Acts 1:8/ 2 Pt. 3:12). God loves this world and wants to save it (Jn. 3:1-21). He has gifted every born-again Christian to witness (1 Cor. 12:1-11), and witnessing is what we do to bring Jesus back (Mt. 24:14). Witnessing is the Unity of the Faith.

Stop trying to predict the return of the Lord and stop teaching things that you don't understand, like a pre-tribulation rapture, and unite in witnessing. Stop fighting over who's right, pre-trib, mid-trib or post-trib, because if you understood the Bible, you would know which one is right (mid-trib) and teach that. But squash the fighting even if you're right and witness together. That's what we're called to do by God (Acts 1:8/ Mt. 28:18-20/ Mk. 16:15-20/ 2 Cor. 5:14-21).

Gifts Are Given - 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Fruit Is Grown - Galatians 5:13-26

Your Ministry Must Be Founded Upon the Fruit of the Spirit

Which is to Say on the Word of God

And Not on the Gifts

Matthew 7:13-28
Modern English Version

{Paraphrased}

The Narrow Gate

13 Enter at the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who are going through it,

14 because small is the gate and narrow is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it {the narrow way to eternal life with God is God's word, the Bible. It is a narrow road because nothing else gets you to God but His word - Rev. 22:14}.

A Tree and Its Fruit

15 Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

16 You will know them by their fruit. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit. But a corrupt tree bears evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a corrupt tree bear good fruit.

19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

20 Therefore, by their fruit you will know them.

I Never Knew You

21 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.

22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonderful works in Your name?’

23 But then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who practice evil’ {though anointed with the gifts of the Spirit, like king Saul - 1 Sam 15, they do not practice the word of God in their personal lives and thus, they "practice evil" or disobedience to God's word}.

The Two Housebuilders

24 Whoever hears these sayings of Mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock.

25 And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house. And it did not fall, for it was founded a rock.

26 And every one who hears these sayings of Mine and does not do them will be likened to a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

27 And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house. And it fell. And its fall was great.”

28 When Jesus finished these sayings, the people were astonished at His teaching,

In this passage, Jesus tells us in verses 24 and 25 that service to God is based on hearing and doing His words, not on the gifts of the Spirit in verse 22. Jesus implies in verses 26 and 27 that those who base their ministry on the gifts and not on doing Christ's words, or obey, or on the fruit of the Spirit, will fall from the Lord.

The Lord wants to admonish us not to get so caught up in witnessing and working for others in a ministry, that you forget to study the Bible. A lot of Christians get caught up in the ministry of the gifts and forget the word and develop problems obeying God after church.

For example, in Matthew 23:23 -28 Jesus confronted the religious and unregenerate, or not born-again, ministers in church. He told them that they obey simple things that take no neglect of the body to do, but have omitted the more important things to God, such as personal obedience in justice, mercy and faith.

Obedience is what God wants (1 Sam. 15:22). Operating in the Spirit is easy because you're spiritually gifted to do these things. But to grow the fruit of the Spirit in you is hard. It takes a personal death to who you are for Jesus to become a part of your character; for the fruit of the Spirit to grow in you (Jn. 12:24-26/ Lk. 9:23-26; 14:25-35).

The fruit of the Spirit is what it takes to obey God in the weightier mattes of your personal life. God will not let anyone become a minister if they don't have the character that it takes to obey God, which is the fruit of the Spirit and not the gifts of the Spirit.

Fruit is grown through obeying God's word in your personal life at the expense of your "self" (2 Cor. 4:7-12). Once you get saved, God anoints you with the Holy Spirit and your spiritual gifts and these gifts constitute your office of service to God (1 Cor. 12:7-11). However, your ministry will not last if it is not founded upon your obedience to the word of God in your personal life after service (Mt. 7:21-27) because when trials come, you'll fall away because your heart will not be settled on the word (Ps. 119:10-12).

You need to stay in Bible study everyday. God wants fruit, not service. If you can't bear fruit, you will not have service for God. God gives you gifts when you get saved, but those gifts need to be founded upon the fruit of your obedience.

The Four Spiritual Foundations of the Christian Faith

ree

Getting caught up in the gifts is not the fruit. A lot of the ministries out there today are giving false prophecies and falling away from the word because they don't study the Bible enough, they don't know the Bible and thus, they got no fruit and their services based on the gifts will be shot down when the devil starts fighting you.

1 Samuel 15:1-29
Modern English Version

The Lord Rejects Saul

Samuel said to Saul, “The Lord sent me to anoint you to be king over His people, over Israel. Now therefore listen to the voice of the words of the Lord.

Thus says the Lord of Hosts, ‘I remember what Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

Now go and strike Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not have compassion on them but put to death both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ”

So Saul summoned the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand foot soldiers and ten thousand men of Judah.

Then Saul came to the city of Amalek and laid an ambush in the valley.

Saul said to the Kenites, “Go, depart, go down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them. For you showed kindness to all the children of Israel when they came up out of Egypt.” So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

Then Saul struck the Amalekites from Havilah until you come to Shur, which is near Egypt.

He took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.

But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, oxen, fatlings, and lambs. And of all that was good, they were not willing to utterly destroy them. But everything that was despised and weak, that they completely destroyed.

10 Then came the word of the Lord to Samuel, saying,

11 I regret that I have set up Saul to be king because he has turned back from following Me, and he has not carried out My words.” And it grieved Samuel, and he cried to the Lord all night.

12 When Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, “Saul came to Carmel and set himself up a monument. Then he turned and has passed on down to Gilgal.”

13 Samuel came to Saul. And Saul said to him, “Blessed are you of the Lord. I have carried out the word of the Lord.”

14 Samuel said, “Then what is the sound of this flock of sheep in my ears? And the sound of the cattle which I am hearing?”

15 And Saul said, “They have brought them from the Amalekites. For the people spared the best of the sheep and oxen, to sacrifice to the Lord your God, and the rest we have utterly destroyed.”

16 Then Samuel said to Saul, “Stop, and I will tell you what the Lord spoke to me this night.”

And he said to him, “Speak.”

17 Samuel said, “When you were little in your own sight, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed you king over Israel?

18 And the Lord sent you on a journey, and said, ‘Go and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are destroyed.’

19 Why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord? And why did you rush upon the spoil and do evil in the sight of the Lord?”

20 And Saul said to Samuel, “I have obeyed the voice of the Lord. And I have followed in the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people took from the plunder sheep and oxen, the first fruits of the banned things to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.”

22 Samuel said,

“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Obedience is better than sacrifice, a listening ear than the fat of rams.

23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has also rejected you from being king.”

24 Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned. For I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and your words, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

25 Now therefore, please pardon my sin and return with me, that I may worship the Lord.”

26 Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you. For you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

27 As Samuel turned about to go, he seized the edge of his robe and it tore.

28 Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours who is better than you.

29 Also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent. For He is not a man, that He should repent.”

Like king Saul, time and time again as a young Christian, I would try to evangelize and build a ministry, but I would get tested by the Lord on personal problems I had not grown out of yet, and the ministry would not work.

Baby Christians all think that because they're anointed that they should be made the head pastor. But ministry is based on years of showing God that you want to be in His service by doing whatever He says in your personal life, not upon the gifts of the Spirit. You've got to show God that you want to be in His service by doing what He says over and over 24/7/365.

If you serve God, you got to show God that you'll listen to Him. Listening to God is what gives us right with God to be a leader in His church. Right to operate in the gifts because you got fruit.

A Personal Testimony

Walk the Walk Talk the Talk

This testimony is brief and about being anointed with the gifts but not growing the fruit through obedience. God will stop you from working in a church by exposing you if you are like Saul; anointed with the Spirit but disobedient in your personal life with Him.

Back in 1993 in Los Angeles, when I had been baptized into the Holy Spirit for two years;

I was 2 years old in the Lord but 24 in age. I got born-again and baptized into the Holy Spirit in an LA Couty jail in 1991. I was in for a DUI; drunk driving with priors and no causalities. I was a baby Christian at this time in 1993.

I believed in God my whole life but when I met the Lord, God the Holy Spirit, that's when my life changed because of the spiritual gifts and the anointing. I was anointed by the Holy Spirit with prophecy and the gifts of healing. God led me to a church that was real.

The staff were Chicano and x gangmembers like me. I started attending services and tried to work with the church. But one day after church, the senior pastor pulled me aside with the assistant pastor and confronted me about how I was living at home after church.

They both laid hands on me and the assistant pastor was praying in tongues out loud and would whisper something to the senior pastor every minute or so. The senior pastor would start witnessing scriptures to me about what the assistant pastor told him about me.

The senior pastor told me that God is telling him that He doesn't want me working in church leadership because I had sins in my personal life. The assistant pastor got the names of my sins in tongues. He said fighting and womanizing. They were correct. I was anointed and trying to serve God in church, but I was sinning after church. I was trying to operate in the gifts but had no fruit. I was "unfruitful".  You've got to "Walk the Walk".

The church council decided to let me evangelize on the weekends with their church going door to door. They judged that I needed to be accountable to their church after church by evangelizing so that I wouldn't get stuck in fighting and womanizing. That confrontation was a training not an excommunication. I wasn't allowed to be a leader in their church based on my gifts of prophecy and healing. Ministry in the gifts is based on your fruit, that is, on your obedience to God in your personal, not on your anointing. You've got to "Walk the Walk".

The senior pastor and his staff put me under another pastor in their church. A white guy and his wife. They were in charge of food distribution. This means the evangelism and outreach pastors.

This is the guy who handles all the aspects of talking to others about Jesus and bringing them in to be discipled by the staff. Door to door. Preaching at other churches. Giving out food, media and all that kind of stuff ... the Director of Ministries was his title on his office door ...

Also, some of you white racists who read here are asking, "Why was a white man put under a Mexican in this church?" You need to shut your mouth before you get a busted lip because in God's real church, it's about character, not race.

God tells me that you readers want to know who this was that trained me in Victory Outreach in California. Well, I'll say that this training occurred in 1993, and the senior pastor passed away in 2019. His wife carries on the ministry with their staff in Los Angeles. 26 years after this training he passed away. I don't want to give you their names and location to protect them because cops who hate Chicanos; enemies and enemies of God in high places (Eph. 6:10-18) read here and attack every name and location I put in these posts. However, these cops are dying currently all over the place ...

Read Titus Chapter 1 and 1 Timothy Chapter 3

1 Timothy 3:6

Modern English Version

He must not be newly converted, so that he does not become prideful and fall into the condemnation of the devil.

Love takes time to grow. The fruit of the Spirit is developed over time growing through death to self into the image of Jesus inside the Holy Spirit within you (Rom. 8:29; 12:1, 2/ 2 Cor. 3:17, 18/ Col. 3:9, 10).

Titus chapter 1 and 1 Timothy chapter 3 both tell you what fruit and character it takes to be a leader in church. You can't use the gifts to become a leader because gifts are given instantly to you while you while the fruit is still a seed to grow inside you. Time spent at neglect to self will grow the fruit over time ... only over time can you become a leader in church. Not right away based on the gifts like a lot of ministries are right now.

You need to read Titus 1 and 1 Timothy 3 to see for yourself what it takes to be a leader in church. Read them, because for the sake of space and time, I will reference the chapters to you instead of copy & paste them for you to see. But you need to read them.

However, look at 1 Tim. 3:6. You can't be a new convert because you're still unprofessional not having the fruit grown in your character yet. You need to be seasoned and experienced to be a leader in church, and these come only over time by obeying God's word over growing the fruit in you.

1 Timothy 3:2 says that to be a leader in church that your life cannot be spoken against, and you can't cheat on your wife. We operate in the Spirit at church, but are you in these sins at home after church?

1 Timothy 3:2 also says that to be a leader in church that you must be hard working and enjoy having guests in your home. Verse 3 says that you can't be the kind to hit someone. Verse 7 says that you have to be well spoken of by people who aren't Christian. I'll leave it at that because I know I'm hitting home right now with a lot of ministers in church with these verses ...

Read these chapters and look at where you got to grow in the fruit; to bear fruit through obedience in these things, because what God is saying here is that the lack of fruit, character and obedience in church, is creating false prophets and false prophecy in church ...

God Wants Fruit Which is Obedience

Apart from It Comes False Prophets and False Prophecy

Matthew 7:15-20
Modern English Version

You Need to be Trained & Discipled in Ministry by Seasoned Staff

1 Kings 17 to 2 Kings 2

Titus 1 & 1 Timothy 3

What's going on is you got saved by someone's church service, testimony and witnessing and you met the Holy Spirit, got anointed with the gifts and you want to go and teach and preach the nations to bring Jesus back so you can go to heaven in the rapture.

But you're not trained. I got trained by those pastors from Victory Outreach in Los Angeles back in the 90's. I understood through them that you can't serve God in the gifts without them in your personal life being founded upon the word, your obedience to it and the growth of the fruit because of your obedience to it. Let this letter be the beginning of your training.

God says to tell you that the scripture confirmation from Jesus to you about being trained in ministry by seasoned and experienced church leaders, is that Elijah trained Elisha from 1 Kings chapter 17 to 2 Kings chapter 2.

God detoured for a few minutes from the subject of His wrath and the pre-tribulation rapture to talk to you about Bible study, because false prophets don't know the Bible and false prophets come with false prophecy when you don't know the Bible. This is why lots of Christians out there in ministry who believe the heresy and false doctrine about the pre-tribulation rapture are teaching false prophecy. They don't know the Bible.

But your conversions are real, and God wants to teach about fruit, Bible study and obeying the weightier matters of God's law in your personal lives. If you don't, you're headed for a fall from ministry as a "false prophet".

Have You Ever Met a Famous Evangelist or Preacher and They Don't Know God?

These are the people like king Saul in 1 Samuel 15 that Jesus is talking about in Matthew 7:22, 23. God doesn't know them though they do things in His Name. I've been to church services and afterward meeting them, some don't want to meet anyone, and they leave before people come. Or, when you do meet them, they act like they don't know a thing about God. They don't know the Bible. They don't know Jesus., God doesn't know them. They are false. I've met people like this many times. Almost every preacher I've met was like this.

So, again, it's not about having the gifts of the Spirit to do things in Jesus' name. It's about knowing God and listening to Him. Knowing Jesus in your personal life and living a life of obeisance to Him, dying to gain eternal life.

"Knowing You, Jesus" (Steffany Gretzinger - 2021)

"Knowing You"- written by Graham Kendrick

LYRICS:

All I once held dear, built my life upon

All this world reveres, and wars to own

All I once thought gain I have counted loss

Spent and worthless now, compared to this

Knowing You, Jesus

Knowing You

There is no greater thing

You're my all, You're the best

You're my joy, my righteousness

And I love You, Lord

Now my heart's desire is to know You more

To be found in You and known as Yours

To possess by faith what I could not earn

All-surpassing gift of righteousness

Knowing You, Jesus

Knowing You

There is no greater thing

You're my all, You're the best

You're my joy, my righteousness

And I love You, Lord

Oh, to know the power of Your risen life

And to know You in Your sufferings

To become like You in Your death, O Lord

So with You to live and never die

Knowing You, Jesus

Knowing You

There is no greater thing

You're my all, You're the best

You're my joy, my righteousness

And I love You, Lord

And I love You, Lord

Thus, let's return to the subject of the wrath of God and begin where we left off. Let's read the entire chapter of 1 Thessalonians 5 to see what the context of verse nine is to the wrath of God, and also define what the wrath of God is, and also what the Great Tribulation is, to show you that pre-tribulationers take this verse out of context, because there will be no pre-tribulation rapture according to these passages in this post.

1 Thessalonians Chapter 5

1 Thessalonians 5
New International Version

{Paraphrased}

The Day of the Lord

Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates {of Jesus' return and the rapture} we do not need to write to you,

for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the Night {verse 2 implies that the rapture, the thief in the Night, occurs when Jesus returns; the day of the Lord}.

While people are saying, “Peace and safety” {under the reign of the devil} destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape {this verse implies that Jesus' return and the rapture both occur during the Great Tribulation. Not Pre nor Post-Tribulation}.

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief {The Bible tells us to watch for Jesus' return and the rapture because we don't know the day or the hour that these will occur}.

You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.

So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep {to stop being aware}, but let us be awake {aware} and sober {watching}.

For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.

But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.

11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Final Instructions

12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.

13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.

14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.

16 Rejoice always,

17 pray continually,

18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

19 Do not quench the Spirit.

20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt

21 but test them all; hold on to what is good,

22 reject every kind of evil.

23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us.

26 Greet all God’s people with a holy kiss.

27 I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters.

28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

The Context of the Wrath of God in Verse 9

Is the Wrath of God That Jesus Pours Out on the Day That He Returns

Revelation Chapters Six Through Sixteen

Are Not the Wrath of God That Ends This World with the Return of Jesus

But the Judgements of God on This World Before the Return of Jesus

The topic of this chapter is the Day of the Lord. The heading tells the context of the chapter and also of verses nine and 23. The Day of the Lord. The day of the Lord is another way to say the day that Jesus returns. Thus, the wrath of God in verse nine is alluding to the wrath that Jesus executes for God on the world in Revelation 19:15 when He returns.

The pre-tribulationers believe that the wrath of God in verse nine is the seals, bowls and trumpets judgements of Revelation chapters six through sixteen. However, Revelation 19 and 2 Peter 3 both reveal that this world ends in fire when Jesus returns. That fire is the wrath of God that Paul is alluding to in 1 Thessalonians 5:9.

Thus, Revelation chapters six through sixteen are not the wrath of God that ends this world at the return of Jesus because Revelation 6:9 tells us that at the opening of the fifth seal, that there will be believers on earth during this seal judgement and believers are promised exemption from the Day of the Lord's wrath in 1 Thessalonians 5:9. Plus, the day of the Lord's wrath, or the Day of the Lord, or the return of Jesus, occurs at the opening of the sixth seal after Revelation 6:9 in verses 15-17.

Now that we know what the context is of 1 Thessalonians 5:9 is and what the wrath of God is, that it is not the seals, bowls and trumpets judgements of Revelation chapters six through sixteen because those are God's "judgements" not His wrath, let's see what the Great Tribulation is.

The Great Tribulation is When the Devil is in Control of the World

And Takes Control of Jerusalem with War Then Brings World Peace from Jerusalem

Matthew 24:15-25
Modern English Version

The Great Tribulation

15 So when you see theabomination of desolation {the Muslim Black Flags},’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),

16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.

18 Let him who is in the field not return to take his clothes.

19 Woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse in those days!

20 Pray that your escape will not be in the winter or on the Sabbath.

21 For then will be great tribulation, such as has not happened since the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.

22 Unless those days were shortened, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ,’ orThere He is,’ do not believe it.

24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

25 Listen, I have told you beforehand.

Daniel 11:30-32

Modern English Version

{Paraphrased}

30 For the ships of Kittim shall come against him {the Muslim Mahdi - the false prophet of Revelation 13:11-18 & chapter 17}. Therefore he shall be grieved and return and have indignation against the holy covenant and take action. He shall even return and show regard to those who forsake the holy covenant.

31 “His armies {the Muslim Army of Black Flags} shall rise up and desecrate the sanctuary fortress. They shall abolish the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination that makes desolate {the Muslim Black Flag in the Temple of Jerusalem}.

32 By flatteries he will corrupt those who act wickedly toward the covenant. But the people who know their God will be strong and take action {This verse implies that there will be Christians alive & active during the Great Tribulation. Thus, there will be no pre-tribulation rapture to remove God's people before the Great Tribulation begins}.

Daniel 12:10-12

Modern English Version

{Paraphrased}

10 Many shall be purified and made white and tried. But the wicked shall do wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days {until Jesus returns}.

12 Blessed is he who waits and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

The Sunan teaches that the false prophet's goal,

The Al-Mahdi's goal,

Is to stake the Muslim Black Flag in the Temple in Jerusalem.

This is called the "abomination of desolation".

Nostradamus' Prophecy About The Mahdi From Jesus To You

"This Is The Rise Of The Mahdi' Says The Lord"

"The Coming Deception"

(Pastor Skip Heitzig - Senior Pastor at Calvary Chapel of Alburquerque)

The Midnight Cry

The archangel Gabriel said that the Great Tribulation is the Midnight Hour of Matthew 25:6, as in, "the midnight cry of the Bridegroom, Jesus". God and Gabriel explained in the following post that the Great Tribulation begins with war against Jerusalem and ends in world peace. He says that the midnight hour is the blackness of darkness meaning that when the devil is control of the world claiming to be God in the flesh, or Jesus the Messiah.

People think that the great Tribulation is intense suffering. But listen to what Gabriel says for God about it ...

Excerpt taken from my message, "The Midnight Cry",

The Archangel Gabriel Speaks About the Midnight Cry

Message Dated,

December 22nd, 2022, at 10:32 AM (CST).

On April 30th, 2024, at 4:00 AM, The Archangel Gabriel got me on my recorder and took me back to 2022 in messages not written yet...this is what the Archangel Gabriel says for the Lord about the Midnight Cry,

"This Bible that we have, is missing a lot of important statements from the Lord Christ. He didn't say to "watch for His return until the Day dawns". He said that He's coming at Night. This is what that preacher wrote that you told him, that, God's about to come back in the worst times in the world.

To the world, it's going to look like heaven on earth because the antichrist is going to say that he's God, and he's going to have this world in a state of bliss and euphoria. The Bible calls it "Peace and Safety" {2 Thes. 5:3}. There's going to be a World Unity. No more war. Everybody's going to be prospering in business, and everyone's going to be happy because there's going to be no more fighting".

"But the Lord said that, is evil. He calls those "the days of darkness" just before His return. The world isn't going to be about God or believing in Him and preparing for the rapture by preaching. They're going to be living in secular peace and safety. Thinking that Christ has returned in the antichrist. That's the darkness! The Lie! The Bible calls it a lie. That's the darkness Jesus is talking about".

"So, we think that when Jesus said that when He returns the world's going to be in darkness, they think that it's talking about suffering. But the antichrist is going to look like God by removing war and suffering and make a one world unity, and that, is what God calls 'darkness'".

So, what us the Tribulation? When the devil starts a world war and sets up the abomination of desolation in Jerusalem during a war to make it his headquarters. From there he will end war for good and make world peace claiming to be God in the flesh, the Messiah.

According to Revelation chapters six through sixteen, the Lord pours out His judgements during the Great Tribulation. God's people will go through these judgements and through the Great Tribulation with the wicked because these are judgements, not God's wrath.

God promises us Christians salvation from God's wrath through Jesus but not from the judgements. Which means that when Jesus returns, He does the rapture and takes us from this world in the blink of an eye before He executes God's wrath on the world with us to end it with fire (Mt. 24:29-31).

So, the Great Tribulation is a war against Jerusalem that ends in world peace, and we all in the world go through the judgements of God in revelation chapters six through sixteen. These are judgements, not God's wrath. The devil wants people to think that he's the Messiah from Jerusalem and takes over Jerusalem with the abomination of desolation and war.

So, we can see that people who quote 1 Thessalonians 5:9 to say that we will be raptured before the judgements of Revelation chapters six through sixteen don't know what the wrath of God is. they think it's those judgements. but it's the fury of God's Son when He returns.

In closing, (Excerpt taken from my message "Nostradamus' Prophecy About The Mahdi From Jesus To You" in the Button above.

The Holy Spirit is urging me to tell you that what Nostradamus is seeing when the Muslim in the Blue Turban enters Europe, is 2 Thessalonians 2:3 {paraphrased},

Do not let anyone deceive you in any way. For {the Day that Jesus returns} will not come unless a falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction.

Nostradamus sees a Muslim in a blue turban entering Europe ... this is the man of sin being revealed ...

The Holy Spirit is also urging me to tell you that the falling away is a popular Muslim false teaching about the rapture. The Pre-Tribulation Rapture. The Lord says that this false prophecy will make a great falling away of Christians to the Muslim religion when the war against Jerusalem by the Muslims starts; the Great Tribulation, and no rapture happens before it starts.

Read this over and over and understand that the Muslims are the ones behind the false prophecy called the Pre-Tribulation rapture because they are the ones to start the Great Tribulation against Jerusalem.

When they do, everyone who believes in it will fall away from faith in God because they'll think that they were left behind with no hope; abandoned by God ... then soon after the Tribulation turns to peace, the devil will be revealed by entering Europe with a blue turban, and Jesus will swiftly come back when he says that he's God, according to 2 Thessalonians 2:8.

False Prophets and False Prophecies

God wants me to copy & paste for you to see the scriptures about false prophets and false prophecies in this post because He wants you to see how they think and operate. These scriptures show how false prophets think and operate and make false prophecies. These scriptures will speak for themselves, and you don't need me to elaborate on them to make you see.

So, read them carefully because you will see how they make false prophecies. In context, this is the word of the Lord to ancient Israel. However, the Bible is written to teach everyone lessons to be applied to your present life. Taking verses and applying them to your personal life is not taking them out of context. This is called "Life Application Skills".

Jeremiah 14
Modern English Version

Drought, Famine, and Sword

The word of the Lord which came to Jeremiah concerning the drought:

Judah mourns, and the gates languish; they sit on the ground while mourning, and the cry of Jerusalem has gone up.

Their nobles have sent their servants for water; they came to the cisterns and found no water. They returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and humiliated, and covered their heads.

Because the ground is chapped, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed; they have covered their heads.

Indeed, the hind also calved in the field and abandoned her young because there was no grass.

The wild donkeys stand in the high places; they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail because there is no grass.

O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, do it for Your name’s sake. Indeed, our backslidings are many; we have sinned against You.

O the Hope of Israel, its Savior in time of trouble, why should You be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to pitch his tent for a night?

Why should You be as a man dismayed, as a mighty man who cannot save? Yet You, O Lord, are in our midst, and we are called by Your name. Do not forsake us!

10 Thus says the Lord to this people:

Even so they have loved to wander; they have not restrained their feet. Therefore, the Lord does not accept them; He will now remember their iniquity and punish their sins.

11 Then the Lord said to me: Do not pray for the good of this people.

12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry. And when they offer a burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

False Prophets

13 Yet I said, “Ah, Lord God! Here the prophets say to them, ‘You shall not see the sword nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’ ”

14 Then the Lord said to me: The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them nor have I commanded them nor have I spoken to them. They prophesy to you a false vision and divination, and emptiness, and the deceit of their heart.

15 Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in My name though I did not send them, yet they say, “Sword and famine will not be in this land.” By sword and famine those prophets will be consumed.

16 The people to whom they prophesy will be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword. And they will have no one to bury them, not them, nor their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters. For I will pour out their wickedness upon them.

17 Therefore you will say this word to them:

Let my eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people has been broken with a great blow, with a very infected wound.

18 If I go out into the field, I see those slain with the sword! And if I enter the city, I see those who are sick with famine! Indeed, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they do not know.

The People Ask for Mercy

19 Have You utterly rejected Judah? Has Your soul loathed Zion? Why have You stricken us so that there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but there was nothing good; and for the time of healing, but there is trouble!

20 We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness and the iniquity of our fathers, for we have sinned against You.

21 Do not abhor us. For Your name’s sake, do not disgrace Your glorious throne. Remember and do not break Your covenant with us.

22 Are there any among the idols of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Is it not You, O Lord our God? Therefore, we will wait upon You, for You have done all these things.

Jeremiah 23
Modern English Version

The Righteous Branch

Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture! says the Lord.

Therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel against the shepherds that feed My people: You have scattered My flock and driven them away and have not visited them. I am about to punish you for the evil of your deeds, says the Lord.

I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries wherever I have driven them and bring them again to their folds, and they shall be fruitful and increase.

I will also set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they will fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor will they be missing, says the Lord.

The days are coming, says the Lord, that I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the earth.

In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. And this is the name by which he will be called:

THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Therefore, surely the days are coming, says the Lord, when they will no more say, “As the Lord lives who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,”

but, “As the Lord lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel out of the north country and from all countries where I had driven them.” Then they will dwell in their own land.

Lying Prophets

My heart is broken within me, because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, like a man overcome by wine, because of the Lord, and because of His holy words.

10 For the land is full of adulterers; for the land mourns because of the curse. The pleasant places of the wilderness have dried up. And their course is evil and their might is not right.

11 For both prophet and priest are profane; indeed, in My house I have found their wickedness, says the Lord.

12 Therefore their way will be as slippery ways to them; they shall be driven into the darkness and fall in it; or I will bring disaster upon them, even the year of their punishment, says the Lord.

13 In addition, I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal and caused My people Israel to err.

14 I have seen also among the prophets of Jerusalem a horrible thing. They commit adultery and walk in lies. They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one repents from his wickedness. All of them are as Sodom to Me and her inhabitants as Gomorrah.

15 Therefore thus says the Lord of Hosts concerning the prophets:

“I will feed them with wormwood and make them drink the water of gall, for from the prophets of Jerusalem profaneness has gone out into all the land.”

16 Thus says the Lord of Hosts:

Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They lead you into vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart    and not out of the mouth of the Lord.

17 They still say to those who despise Me, “The Lord has said, ‘You will have peace’ ”; and they say to everyone who walks after the imagination of his own heart, “No evil will come upon you.”

18 For who has stood in the counsel of the Lord and has perceived and heard His word?  Who has given heed to His word and listened to it?

19 Look, a whirlwind of the Lord has gone forth in fury, a tempestuous whirlwind.  t will fall tempestuously upon the head of the wicked.

20 The anger of the Lord will not turn back until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart. In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.

21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

22 But if they had stood in My counsel and had caused My people to hear My words, then they would have turned them from their evil way and from the evil of their deeds.

23 Am I a God who is near, says the Lord, and not a God far off?

24 Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I do not see him? says the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.

25 I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, “I had a dream, I had a dream!”

26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart,

27 who plan to cause My people to forget My name by their dreams, which they tell to their neighbor, as their fathers have forgotten My name for Baal.

28 The prophet who has a dream, let him tell his dream. And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? says the Lord.

29 Is not My word like fire, says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

30 See, therefore I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who steal My words, each from his neighbor. 31 See, I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who use their tongues and say, “The Lord says.”

32 See, I am against those who prophesy false dreams, says the Lord, and recount them and cause My people to err by their lies and reckless boasting. Yet I sent them not nor commanded them. Therefore they shall not profit this people at all, says the Lord.

False Prophecy

33 When this people or the prophet or a priest asks you, saying, “What is the oracle of the Lord?” you shall then say to them, “What oracle? I will forsake you, says the Lord.”

34 As for the prophet and the priest and the people who say, “The oracle of the Lord,” I will punish that man and his house.

35 Thus each of you will say to his neighbor and to his brother, “What has the Lord answered?” and, “What has the Lord spoken?”

36 And the oracle of the Lord you shall mention no more, for every man’s word will be his oracle. For you have perverted the words of the living God, of the Lord of Hosts our God.

37 Thus you will say to that prophet, “What has the Lord answered you?” and, “What has the Lord spoken?”

38 But if you say, “The oracle of the Lord”; therefore thus says the Lord: Because you say this word, “The oracle of the Lord,” I have also sent to you, saying, You shall not say, “The oracle of the Lord.”

39 Therefore, surely, I, even I, will utterly forget you and cast you and the city that I gave you and your fathers out of My presence.

40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you and perpetual shame which shall not be forgotten.

Jeremiah 27
Modern English Version

Judah to Serve Nebuchadnezzar

In the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord:

Thus says the Lord to me: Make bonds and yokes and put them on your neck,

and send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

And command them to go to their masters, saying: Thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel: Thus you shall say to your masters:

I have made the earth, the men, and the beasts which are on the ground by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed good to Me.

Now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant. And also I have given to him the beasts of the field to serve him.

All nations shall serve him and his son and his son’s son until the time of his own land comes; and then many nations and great kings will make him their servant.

It shall come to pass that I will punish the nation and kingdom which will not serve Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, says the Lord. I will punish that nation with the sword, and with famine, and with pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

Therefore do not listen to your prophets, or to your diviners, or to your dreamers, or to your enchanters, or to your sorcerers who speak to you, saying, “You shall not serve the king of Babylon.”

10 For they prophesy a lie to you in order to remove you far from your land. And I will drive you out, and you shall perish.

11 But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those I will let remain still in their own land, says the Lord, and they shall till it and dwell in it.

12 I spoke also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying: Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him and his people, and live.

13 Why will you die, you and your people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord has spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

14 Therefore do not listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, “You will not serve the king of Babylon,” because they prophesy a lie to you.

15 For I have not sent them, says the Lord, yet they prophesy a lie in My name, so that I might drive you out and that you might perish, you and the prophets that prophesy to you.

16 I also spoke to the priests and to all this people: Thus says the Lord: Do not listen to the words of your prophets that prophesy to you, saying, “The vessels of the house of the Lord will now soon be brought again from Babylon.” For they prophesy a lie to you.

17 Do not listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live. Why should this city be laid waste?

18 But if they are prophets, and if the word of the Lord is with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of Hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem not go to Babylon.

19 For thus says the Lord of Hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the rest of the vessels that remain in this city,

20 which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem. 21 Indeed, thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the Lord and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem:

22 They will be carried to Babylon and they will be there until the day that I visit them, says the Lord. Then I will bring them up and restore them to this place.

Ezekiel 13
Modern English Version

False Prophets Condemned

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own hearts, “Hear the word of the Lord!”

Thus says the Lord God: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

O Israel, your prophets are like the foxes in the ruins.

You have not gone up into the gaps, nor did you build up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle on the day of the Lord.

They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, “The Lord says,” when the Lord has not sent them. And they have made others to hope for the confirmation of their word.

Have you not seen a vain vision, and have you not spoken a lying divination when you say, “The Lord says,” yet it is not I who have spoken?

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Because you have spoken vanity and seen lies, therefore I am against you, says the Lord God.

Thus My hand shall be against the prophets who see vanity and who divine lies. They shall not have a place in the council of My people, nor shall they be written in the register of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter into the land of Israel so that you may know that I am the Lord God.

10 It is surely because they have seduced My people, saying, “Peace,” when there was no peace. And when anyone builds up a wall, they daub it with whitewash.

11 Say to those who daub it with whitewash that it shall fall. There shall be an overflowing shower, and you, O great hailstones, shall fall. And a stormy wind shall break it.

12 When the wall has fallen, will you not be asked, “Where is the whitewash with which you have daubed it?”

13 Therefore thus says the Lord God: I will make a violent wind break out in My fury. And there shall be an overflowing shower in My anger, and hailstones in My fury to consume it.

14 So I will break down the wall that you have daubed with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground so that its foundation is laid bare. And when it falls, you shall be consumed in its midst. And you shall know that I am the Lord.

15 Thus I will accomplish My wrath upon the wall and upon those who have daubed it with whitewash, and I will say to you, The wall is no more, nor those who daubed it,

16 along with the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem and who see visions of peace for her when there is no peace, says the Lord God.

17 Now you, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people who prophesy out of their own heart and prophesy against them,

18 and say, Thus says the Lord God: Woe to the women who sew magic bands on all wrists and make veils on the heads of persons of every stature to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of My people but save the souls alive of others for yourselves?

19 And you pollute Me among My people for handfuls of barley and pieces of bread to slay the souls of those who should not die and to save the souls alive of those who should not live by your lying to My people who hear your lies.

20 Therefore thus says the Lord God: I am against your magic bands with which you hunt the souls there as birds, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that you hunt as birds.

21 Your veils also I will tear off and deliver My people out of your hands, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted. And you shall know that I am the Lord.

22 Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad, and strengthened the hands of the wicked that he should not turn from his wicked way and save his life, 23 therefore you women shall no more see vanity or practice divinations, and I will deliver My people out of your hand. Thus you shall know that I am the Lord.

World without end. Amen.
