You're Special
You're Beautiful
2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Authorized (King James) Version
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
People don't see your true value as a Christian. Perhaps, maybe you don't as well. But if you've had that encounter with God where you got baptized into the Holy Spirit, then God in you makes you special.
See yourself the way heaven does. God has an anointing on you. God's Spirit is inside your body. You're special because God places value on you that He doesn't on the rest of creation. You see that God speaks up for you and the angels fight for you and treat you special. God's angels treat you more normal than people do. This is because their commander died for you.
What Makes Christians Special?
What makes you special is that you've been born again (Jn. 3/ Eze. 36:25-27/ Ti. 3:4-7/ 2 Cor. 5:17Jer. 18:1-7). You have spiritual gifts such as healing and prophecy (2 Cor. 12 - 14). The Holy Spirit is inside of you (1 Cor. 3:16, 17; 6:19, 20/ 2 Cor. 6:14-18). The Bible says that we are the first fruits of a new creation of God (Jms. 1:18). There's no one like you in all creation. Only Christians have this value. Only Christians have this elite special status. People in the world bear God's image, but they are not special like you are because they don't have the Holy Spirit inside them. However, because they bear God's image, they too are special to God.
So, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that there's no one like you. Affirm that you're special because you have the Holy Spirit inside you.
Your family will always love you more than people. But if they don't get saved with you, they will not know the new you in Christ (2 Cor. 4:16). Jesus said that Christians are respected everywhere but by their own family (Lk. 4:24). You need to not base your self-image on who they say you are. Your born-again new self-image is based on God's word. On who the Bible says you are in Christ (Col. 3:9, 10). Not on who your family says you are. They refer to the old man (Eph. 4:22) God says you're special because you are recreated in His image as a new creation (Col. 2:16).
World without end. Amen.
