Revelation 13:11-18

¹¹ Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb and he spoke like a dragon.

¹² He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence and causes the earth and those who dwell on it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

¹³ He performs great signs, making fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.

¹⁴ He deceives those who dwell on the earth by the signs which he was granted to do in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by a sword and lived.

¹⁵ He was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

¹⁶ He causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead,

¹⁷ so that no one may buy or sell, except he who has the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name.

¹⁸ Here is a call for wisdom: Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast. It is the number of a man. His number is six hundred and sixty-six.

The Devil Tricks Man into Believing That He's God with Miracles

People that don't know God are convinced about God by miracles. If you know God, you know that He does miracles when you know Him. You ask Him to heal someone, and He doesn't because you seek the miracle and not Him. Then you seek Him more and He does it out of pity but leaves one pinky not healed because He wants you to know Him not what He can do for you.

But the devil will do a miracle to convince you that He's God. But God isn't into miracles to convince you like that because He wants you to seek Him, not what he can do for you. God wants us to know Him.

You have to know God to get a miracle from Him or know someone that He knows to get it. You know God when you know His name. Miracles done in Jesus' Name are from God. But you have to know God to get a miracle from Him.

The devil will do miracles to convince you that He's God. He gets you into miracles and the gifts of the Spirit instead of into knowing God because he is not God.

¹³ “Enter at the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who are going through it,

¹⁴ because small is the gate and narrow is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

A Tree and Its Fruit

¹⁵ “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

¹⁶ You will know them by their fruit. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

¹⁷ Even so, every good tree bears good fruit. But a corrupt tree bears evil fruit.

¹⁸ A good tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a corrupt tree bear good fruit.

¹⁹ Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

I Never Knew You

²² Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonderful works in Your name?’

²³ But then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who practice evil.’

The Two Housebuilders

²⁴ “Whoever hears these sayings of Mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock.

²⁵ And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house. And it did not fall, for it was founded a rock.

²⁶ And every one who hears these sayings of Mine and does not do them will be likened to a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

Anointed Christians into ministries based on the gifts of the Spirit instead of on obeying God's word, are false prophets. Like King Saul, they were saved, anointed and Spirit filled but they did not obey the Lord. To obey is better than doing miracles in His Name (1 Sam. 15).

Gifts are given and you don't need character to operate them. You can operate them at will. But disobeying God will make dormant the gifts. Obeying God takes all your heart. Your life needs to be founded on God's word not on the gifts. Ministries that are founded on the gifts instead of obeying God, will fall a great fall (Mt. 7:26, 27).

The Lord Delights in Obedience Not Ceremonies

God Wants a Listening Ear Not the False Ministry of Miracles

1 Samuel 15:22

²² Samuel said,

“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Obedience is better than sacrifice, a listening ear than the fat of rams.

When Israel was taught to sacrifice rams and animals in the Old Testament, those were ceremonies. The Lord says that operating in the gifts of the Spirit is the same thing. It's a show, a ceremony. God delights in our obedience, not our ceremonies. God wants a listening ear; your personal obedience to Him first, not just your services and ceremonies to others.

No doubt God's Great Commission for His people today is to go and use these gifts to get people saved (Mt. 28:18-20/ Mk. 16:15-20). However, your ministry is to be founded not upon the gifts, ceremonies and services, but on listening to God after and before the shows and services. Saul was anointed with the same Holy Spirit that we have, but He did not use His power to subdue the flesh and listen God (Rom. 7 & 8/ Gal. 5).

To overcome the flesh is called knowing God. To know God means that He is giving you personal commands to do all the time in your life with Him. Listening to God in a personal relationship before, during and after the services is called knowing God. Your ministry is false like Saul was if you don't listen to God but perform ceremonies in Jesus' Name because you don't know God. You don't listen to God.

1 Samuel 15:22 means that ministry and service to God is about listening to God. Not just about ceremonies and services. If your ministry has no fruit to obey God with (Gal. 5:22, 23), then you're a false prophet like the devil using the miracles to convince others that you're from God (Mt. 7:15-23). But you don't know God or listen to Him, like the devil.

Ministry is an exterior thing to serve others but has no inner fruit from knowing God. These are the kinds of ministers who preach in Jesus' Name but after church are into adultery and fighting like the world is. There's no fruit to bear in that ministry.

I've witnessed countless times in my past as a youth that whenever I did something in Jesus' Name that I learned in the Bible, that I thought that I was obeying God. God would always test me to see if could practice what I was preaching and because the Lord did not send me to preach this message, that my ministry would fall because I couldn't practice what I preached. God will make sure that you first do what you say to others.

God has to first burn sin out of you and perfect in you the character in the messages you preach. This is what Jesus is talking about when He says in Mt. 7:22 that God doesn't know these people who put on a show in His Name because they don't obey God's word.

To obey God is called sanctification (Jn. 17:17) and mortification (Col. 3:4-6/ Rom. 8:1-16). God is the one that makes us obey Him (Eze. 36:25-27/ Ti. 3:4-7) and to obey God's word we have to know God, or rather, God has to know us (Gal. 4:9), because in a personal relationship with Him, He teaches us to obey Him through the power of the Holy Spirit (21 Pt. 1:2/ Zec. 4:6). Obeying God takes submission and a personal commitment to God (Jn. 4:1-10).

So, you see, Jesus means in Mt. 7:13-27 that to obey God is to know and to listen to Him. To love (Jn. 14:21) and know Him (Phil. 3:10). People who put on a show in His Name without personal obedience that comes from personal fellowship and anointing with God, God doesn't know them. They are false prophets.

The Holy Spirit closes this post,

"If you love Me, do what I say because I want a listening ear, not your fake shows done in My Name. You put on a show in My name, then go commit adultery against My word after".

Matthew 23:23-28
