Everything Comes from God โ The Devil Has No Power
Foreword
Isaiah 45:7 Authorized (King James) Version
7ย I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
The heart of this message is simple yet lifeโchanging: everything comes from God.ย He is in control of all things โ the good, the painful, and the refining fire. When you truly understand this, you stop blaming the devil for your trials and start seeing Godโs hand shaping you through them. This revelation brings perfect peace, restores dignity, and lifts your head high with confidence, knowing that even in suffering, God Himself is working for your good (Romans 8:28).
Everything Comes from God
The Devil Has No Power to Overrule him
When the Holy Spirit opens your eyes to see that all thingsย are in Godโs hands, your heart enters a peace that cannot be shaken. You begin to walk in His will with confidence, knowing He is directing every step (Isaiah 26:3; Philippians 4:6โ7; Ephesians 1:11; Daniel 4:35).
Even when life hurts, you donโt fall into fear or confusion. You understand that itโs not the devil attacking you โ itโs God refining you. He is still ruling, still working, and still accomplishing His purpose in your life (Romans 8:28; Lamentations 3:37โ38). That truth gives you dignity. You lift your head, knowing you are being perfected by the hand of your Father.
Perfect Peace in the Fire
The Fire Is Not Defeat โ Itโs Divine Growth
Persecution and hardship are not signs that the devil is winning. They are the testing of your faith, and God uses that fire to mature you, strengthen you, and make your faith complete (James 1:2โ4; 1 Peter 1:6โ7; Romans 5:3โ5).
The enemy is limited. He cannot override Godโs will, cannot stop His plan, and cannot destroy what God has begun in you (Luke 22:31โ32; James 4:7; 1 John 4:4). So, you donโt live with a defeated mindset โ you live with dignity and peace, knowing God is training you, disciplining you, and shaping you through every trial (Hebrews 12:5โ11; 1 Peter 5:10).
A Word About the Lord
Fear the Lord - He's the one doing this (Luke 12:5)
Luke 12:5 New King James Version
But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!
People think that it's the devil attacking them, but God has said that the devil is defeated.
Genesis 3:15 New King James Version
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.โ
It's the Lord doing it. It's always the Lord. It hurts because it's correction and refining. Growing pains make you sore.
People need to understand that hell is not the devil's work. It's a prison from God to torture him.
Matthew 25:41 Authorized (King James) Version
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20:10 Authorized (King James) Version {Paraphrased}
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be {tortured} day and night for ever and ever.
This means that God designed the lake of fire. God is the one that's torturing the devil and humans in hell, not the devil. The lake of fire is a burn pit.
When it comes time for you to cross over to the other side of reality, it's not the devil that's going to be there to take you to the fire to burn you, it's God and His angels. The Lord's angels are who take you to hell, not Satan or devils.
Matthew 13:41-42, 49, 50 Authorized (King James) Version
41ย The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42ย and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
49ย So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
50ย and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
People think that it's the devil attacking because they don't understand that he's defeated and can't initiate force in your life. The devil is defeated and all things come from God. When you're suffering, it's not the devil. It's the Lord doing the suffering.
But the suffering is never meant to kill you, as a Christian. It's correction and the refining fire.
Isaiah 48:10 Authorized (King James) Version
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
Proverbs 17:3 Authorized (King James) Version
The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold:ย but the Lord trieth the hearts.
Malachi 3:2-3 Authorized (King James) Version
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refinerโs fire, and like fullersโ soap:
3ย and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.
Zechariah 13:9 Authorized (King James) Version
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
1 Peter 1:6-7 Authorized (King James) Version
6ย Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7ย that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
1 Peter 4:12 Authorized (King James) Version
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
Job 23:10 Authorized (King James) Version
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Psalm 12:6 Authorized (King James) Version
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Psalm 119:9 Authorized (King James) Version
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
Romans 5:3-5 Authorized (King James) Version
3ย And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4ย and patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5ย and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
It hurts and it defeats you because God is maturing you spiritually by killing your flesh. The flesh has to die for the spirit to manifest. God puts you through the fire of affliction not to torture you, as some think. But to burn out the wickedness of the flesh. With fire, He shall burn the bond of iniquity out of your body. It's like the fire burns holes in your heart, and through those holes, the Spirit comes out and manifests the fruit.
Romans 6:3โ6, 8, 11 (The Death of the Old Self and Union with Christ)
"Or donโt you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life... For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin... Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him... In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus."
Romans 8:10โ13 (Living by the Spirit vs. the Death of the Flesh)
"But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligationโbut it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live."
Galatians 2:20 (Co-Crucifixion with Christ)
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Colossians 3:3โ4 (Hiddenness in Christ's Death and Resurrection)
"For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory."
This is the Lord you're seeing at work in your life, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Not the devil. This is all the work of the Lord, and the end is good for you.
Romans 8:26-28 Authorized (King James) Version {Paraphrased}
26ย Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit {Himself} makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27ย And {Jesus} that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because he {also} makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God {the Father}.
28ย And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God {the Father because of the intercession for them by the Spirit and the Son}, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Ephesians 1:11 Authorized (King James) Version
in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

When Believers Are Attacked: Understanding Spiritual Discipline
Now that we got that straight, let's move on to actual attacks of the devil on real Christians. If God is in control for our good, why is He allowing this, right? You're born again and Spirit filled; anointed, and the devil is attacking you like before you got saved. You wonder why?
This is not like the believers in Acts who got beat up by the devil for trying to exorcise him without the anointing (Acts 19:13-16). They had faith in Jesus but no Holy Ghost power inside them. You got the anointing; you have Holy Ghost power inside you, but you're still getting attacked by the devil.
The problem is your fellowship with the Spirit is broken because of disobedience (Isaiah 59:2-A). You're not going back to hell, and the Holy Spirit won't depart from you if you disobey God as an anointed Christian. But this is why God loves mankind so much (John 3:16/ Psalm 103:13, 14; 116:5, 6/ 1 Corinthians 1:26-29/ 2 Corinthians 12:9). This is what God gives His grace to us for (2 Corinthians 12:9/ Romans 5:20, 21; 6:14/ Hebrews 4:16/ Titus 2:11, 12). His power is perfected in our fleshly weakness (1 Corinthians 12:1-10). You displease the Godhead with your disobedience, and they put you under judgement for a season (Hebrews 12:5-17), where God will not hear your prayers because of unforgiveness and unbelief (Isaiah 59:2-B).
He hides his face from you (Isaiah 59:2-A) and the Holy Spirit is hindering your prayers, and you got no Holy Ghost power, and the enemy is coming like a roaring lion to devour you (1 Peter 5:8). The Lord will let the devil do this until you repent. But he can't take your life (Job 2:6).
The devil wants to kill you like he did Jesus to win. Satan is like Pinhead in the "Hellraiser" franchise. He rips up the flesh; devours it, mangles it, like a lion (1 Peter 5:8/ 1 Corinthians 5:5). But he can't do nothing to you at all in any form or way. But God keeps you alive to afflict you in order to refine you.
It's your ways that draw out the sword of the Lord against you. He does this to kill your flesh, not to end your life, as the devil wants. That's what's going. Your fleshly ways are resisting the Lord.
Galatians 5:13-17 New King James Version
13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not useย liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, evenย in this: โYou shall love your neighbor as yourself.โย
15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
Walking in the Spirit
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
Romans 8:1-16 New King James Version {Paraphrased}
Free from Indwelling Sin
1 There isย therefore now no {more} condemnation {to death and hell} to those who are {born again by the Spirit and} in Christ Jesus, whoย do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit {because they've been born again}.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus {in the Spirit} has made me free from the law of sin and death {in the flesh}.
3 For {the laws of God could not make us obedient to them because the flesh was too weak to obey them}, God {justified our disobedience}ย by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh {by His crucifixion},
4 {so} that {through His resurrection} the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh {because they have not been born again}, but those who liveย according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit {because the Spirit makes us like this through the new birth}.
6 For to be carnally minded isย death, but to be spiritually minded isย life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind isย enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be {this is the work of the devil: to make it impossible to return to God}.
8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God {because the bond of iniquity in the flesh is a totally depraved and slave condition}.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you {through the baptism into the Holy Spirit}. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His {Only those born again and Spirit filled are going to heaven - the rest are believers in God like the devils: they know He exists and shake in fear of Him because they lie to man saying that He does not exist}.
10 And if Christ isย in you, the body isย dead because of sin, but the Spirit isย life because of righteousness {This is the new birth}.
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you {through the new birth}, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you {the resurrection of Christ gave us the power of God, or, the indwelling Holy Spirit, to reverse the work of the devil, i.e. the bond of iniquity, to sanctify it into freedom from it, called "obedience to God". And though the Spirit makes us obedient through the resurrection of Christ called sanctification and mortification. This obedience is not what justifies us with God the Father. It is the death of His Son for our sins, as verses 3 and 4 declare}.
Sonship Through the Spirit
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors to God {we owe Him our very lives}โnot to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die {because sin separates us from the Source of Life: God}; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live {forever with God}.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear {the spirit of the antichrist}, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, โAbba,ย Father.โ
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Now let us consider the attacks that genuine believers may face. If God is sovereign and works all things for our good, why does He sometimes allow the enemy to oppose us?
You may be born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, and walking in Godโs anointingโyet still experience attacks similar to those you faced before salvation. This does not mean that God has abandoned you or that the devil has authority over your life.
The sons of Sceva in Acts 19 attempted to cast out a demon without truly knowing Christ or possessing the power of the Holy Spirit:
โJesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?โโActs 19:15, KJV
Their failure was not the experience of a Spirit-filled believer under trial. It revealed the danger of attempting spiritual warfare without a genuine relationship with Jesus.
For the believer, spiritual opposition may sometimes be connected to broken fellowship with God through disobedience, unforgiveness, or unbelief. Disobedience does not mean that a truly redeemed believer has returned to hell, nor does it mean that the Holy Spirit has abandoned him.
However, sin can grieve the Holy Spirit and hinder our fellowship with God:
โAnd grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.โโEphesians 4:30, KJV
โIf I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.โโPsalm 66:18, KJV
At times, God may permit a season of correction in which our prayers seem hindered and His presence feels distant. Scripture says:
โYour iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.โโIsaiah 59:2, KJV
Yet Godโs purpose is not destructionโit is restoration. He calls us to repent, forgive, and return to faithful obedience:
โIf we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.โโ1 John 1:9, KJV
The enemy may roar and seek to devour, but he remains under Godโs authority:
โBe sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.โโ1 Peter 5:8, KJV
God may allow the enemy to test and trouble us for a season, but the devil cannot take our lives outside Godโs permission. The Lord sets the boundary:
โThe LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.โโJob 2:6, KJV
Therefore, when spiritual attacks come, examine your heart, seek forgiveness, reject unbelief, and return to close fellowship with the Lord. Resist the devil in faith, and trust that God will restore you:
โSubmit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.โโJames 4:7, KJV
Epilogue
When you know that everything comes from God, you stop living in fear and start living in reverence. You stop asking โWhy is this happening to me?โย and begin saying โLord, thank You for trusting me with this fire.โ
This truth restores your peace, your dignity, and your strength. You lift your head high, knowing that even the flames are holy โ because they come from the hand of a loving God who is perfecting you for His glory.
From the Word to Worship
As the Lord has ministered to us through the eye gateโopening our understanding through His Word, revealing His truth, and allowing us to see His hand at workโHe now leads us into the ear gate. What we have seen must become what we hear; what we have received as revelation must become a sound of worship.
The Word has opened our eyes, but worship tunes our ears to heaven. In worship, we move from understanding His truth to responding to His presenceโfrom the written Word to a living song of surrender. The same Spirit who illuminated the Scriptures now draws us deeper, teaching us to listen, obey, and worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.
