Revelation 1:9-20
Modern English Version

A Vision of Christ

I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the isle that is called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a great voice like a trumpet,

11 saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and “What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.

12 I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And when I turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks, 13 and in the midst of the seven candlesticks was one like a Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and with a golden sash wrapped around the chest.

14 The hair on His head was white like wool, as white as snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire.

15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters.

16 He had in His right hand seven stars, and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword. His appearance was like the sun shining brightly.

17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though I were dead. Then He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.

18 I am He who lives, though I was dead. Look! I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

19 Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this.

20 The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven candlesticks which you saw are the seven churches.

Revelation 3:1-6
Modern English Version

{Paraphrased}

The Message to Sardis

To the angel of the church in Sardis write:

He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars says these things: I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain but are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfected before God.

Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

You have a few names even in Sardis who have not soiled their garments. They shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.

He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments. I will not blot his name out of the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

This is Jesus talking in these passages. Jesus is talking about Sardis missing the rapture in Revelation 3:3. Coming as a thief in the night and not knowing the hour. Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:4, 5 that Christians are not in darkness that the rapture should catch us unaware and overtake us as a thief. So, these Christians are not ready.

These are Christians in this passage, not the world of unbelievers. They're in church doing things for God. But they stopped. Jesus said in Revelation 3:5 that they have soiled their garments. That doesn't mean to pee on yourself as people say that the baby has soiled their diapers. Proverbs 26:11 reveals that their garments are soiled because they have went back to the ways of the world and are wallowing in the mud like a pig. Revelation 19:8 says that white garments are the righteous deeds, or works or acts, of the church. This implies that Sardis stopped working for God in church.

Why Might Sardis Miss the Rapture?

They Stopped Serving God in Church from Trauma

Endurance & Perseverance Through Trauma

Revelation 3:1, 2 reveals that their "works" are the problem. Jesus identifies what exactly it is that they're missing. They are fainting and need to persevere in service to God or, as Jesus said in Matthew 24:13, to endure.

In Revelation 3:3 Jesus gives the answer. The same answer is in Matthew 24: 12-14 and Hebrews 3:14. In fact, the Holy Spirit has just shown my memory other scriptures that I have forgotten on the subject of patience under trial.

Spiritual Sardis

Jesus Calls You to Repentance Today

The subject is called Patience. But the Holy Spirit wants to minister to you about this with scripture instead of by me explaining it to you. You'll understand when why Saris might miss the Rapture, and what you spiritual Sardis today need to do as well to repent as you read the following passages and see the common denominator in them all, because they're all talking about the same thing.

Revelation 3:3-A

Authorized (King James) Version

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent.

Hebrews 10:36

Modern English Version

36 For you need patience, so that after you have done the will of God, you will receive the promise.

Luke 8:14-16

Modern English Version

14 That which fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

15 But the seed on the good ground are those who, having heard the word, keep it in an honest and good heart and bear fruit with patience.

A Light Under a Vessel

16 “No one, when he lights a candle, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a candlestick, that those who enter may see the light.

Revelation 2:5

Modern English Version

Remember therefore from where you have fallen. Repent, and do the works you did at first, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your candlestick from its place, unless you repent.

Matthew 24:12-14

Authorized (King James) Version

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Hebrews 3:14

Authorized (King James) Version

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Galatians 6:9

Authorized (King James) Version

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Hebrews 12:1-2
Modern English Version

The Discipline of the Lord

Therefore, since we are encompassed with such a great cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Romans 5:3-4

Modern English Version

Not only so, but we also boast in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces patience,

patience produces character, and character produces hope.

2 Peter 1:3-11
Modern English Version

The Christian’s Call and Election to Bear Fruit

His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who has called us by His own glory and excellence,

by which He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that through these things you might become partakers of the divine nature and escape the corruption that is in the world through lust.

For this reason make every effort to add virtue to your faith; and to your virtue, knowledge;

and to your knowledge, self-control; and to your self-control, patient endurance; and to your patient endurance, godliness;

and to your godliness, brotherly kindness; and to your brotherly kindness, love.

For if these things reside in you and abound, they ensure that you will neither be useless nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But the one who lacks these things is blind and shortsighted because he has forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

10 Therefore, brothers, diligently make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.

11 For in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly provided for you.

You Need to Start Witnessing Again

And Stop Medicating Your Pain at Parties with Drugs and Alcohol

I'm going to splice two verses together for you right here and now which will surmise the point of the Holy Spirit's message to us today, 2 Peter 1 verses 6 and 9. The Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul reveals to us in verse 9 that the white garments of Sardis are soiled because they are blind, short sighted and have forgotten that they were cleansed from their sins.

Add Proverbs 26:11 to this and the Holy Spirit through David and the Apostle Peter is saying that Sardis' white garments are soiled with the mud of backsliding into their old ways in the world.

So, their works in Revelation 3:1, 2 were not the commands of God. Their works were their own ways. Proverbs 14:14 says that the backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways, and not God's.

The church in Sardis went back to the world because they forgot that they are saved from those ways from the pain of persecution for their faith in Jesus. They're still saved because Jesus is calling them His church in Revelation 3. This means that they're born-again and Spirit filled but backslidden because the pain made them forget that they are saved. Jesus tells us to remember our first works and do them again. Jesus is talking about a revival in these passages. A revival back to our first works.

In 2 Peter 1:6 the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul gives the answer on how to overcome backsliding, Patient endurance. You can better understand it with Matthew 24:12-14,

Matthew 24:12-14

Modern English Version

12 Because iniquity will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

What Jesus is saying here is that when you've fainted because the world knocked you down when you're witnessing, and your love for them has grown cold and you stopped witnessing for God, that your salvation is in danger. You get back up in endurance and keep on witnessing and preaching until the end comes and you'll be saved in the end.

Romans 5:3 says that these tribulations produce patience, and patience is what you need to keep on bearing fruit by preaching during tribulation. Patience under trial or patience during tribulation. Keep fighting the good fight of faith. Don't stop believing in Jesus.

To Watch Is an Action Like Love and Faith Are

To Watch for the Lord's Return Means to Witness

And to Witness is How to Make the Rapture When He Returns

In Revelation 3:3 Jesus is saying that "watching" is how to make the rapture. His use of the illustrations in verse 3 about Him coming upon you like a thief in the night and you not knowing the hour when, signifies and denotes the rapture.

Revelation 3:3 tells us how to, "watch",

"Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent". This is saying the same thing as Revelation 2:5,

"Remember therefore from where you have fallen. Repent, and do the works you did at first,"

I know you're hurting from the world knocking you down, and you're trying to deal with the pain. But you don't know how to endure, you've forgotten, because if you did, you would get up and keep right on witnessing. That's how you do it. Witnessing is a fight with the world. But your trauma pushed you out of the fight back into your old ways, which is to drown your sorrows with alcohol.

God wants to warn you about doing this, though He's taken into account that though you love Him and the reason that you're backsliding is due to pain & trauma, that your works are soiled with the mud of the world, and if you don't repent, you will be chopped up by God on judgement day, like the prophet Samuel hacked king Agag in pieces before the Lord in God's judgement on Agag's life (1 Sam. 15:32, 33). God knows that you're not backsliding on Him because you hate Him, but because you're hurting. But you're acting like His enemy and the penalty is the same. Jesus calls you the "evil servant". You are what you do.

Proverbs 23:6-8
Modern English Version

Do not eat the bread of him who has an evil eye, neither desire his delicacies;

for as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you.

The morsel you have eaten, you will vomit up, and lose your sweet words.

Matthew 24:45-51
Modern English Version

The Faithful or the Unfaithful Servant

45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master has made ruler over his household to give them food at the appointed time?

46 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.

47 Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods.

48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master delays his coming,’

49 and begins to strike his fellow servants and eat and drink with the drunkards,

50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not look for him and in an hour he is not aware of

51 and will cut him in pieces and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Can you see that Jesus saying the same thing in this passage as in Revelation 2 and Revelation 3? That if you go back to your old ways in the world instead of enduring affliction to keep on witnessing, that you will forget when the Lord will come and He will come upon you at an hour you do not know and on a day that you're not watching and looking for Him to return by witnessing, and your judgement will be? To be chopped in pieces before the Lord on judgement day.

Thus says the Lord,

"Stop wallowing in the muck and the mire and cast all your care upon Me because I care for you! Stand up and answer Me like a man, because I will demand it of you! Get back in the fight and endure it! Start witnessing again, because your obedience alone gives you the right to enter heaven!"

Revelation 22:12-14

Modern English Version

12 Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with Me to give to each one according to his work.

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

1 Peter 5:6-9

Modern English Version

Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.

Cast all your care upon Him, because He cares for you.

Be sober and watchful, because your adversary the devil walks around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Resist him firmly in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

Revelation 16:15

Modern English Version

15 Look, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches and keeps his garments on, lest he walk naked and his shame be exposed.”

Mark 13:33-37

Modern English Version

33 Take heed, watch and pray. For you do not know when the time will come.

34 For the Son of Man is like a man leaving on a far journey who left his house and gave authority to his servants and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

35 Watch thereforefor you do not know when the master of the house is coming, in the evening, or at midnight, or at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning

36 lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping.

37 What I say to you I say to all: Watch!”

Luke 21:34-36
Modern English Version

Exhortation to Watch

34 Take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts become burdened by excessiveness and drunkenness and anxieties of life, and that Day comes on you unexpectedly.

35 For as a snare it will come on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Therefore watch always and pray that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Ezekiel 33:6-8

Modern English Version

But if the watchman sees the sword come and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned and a sword comes and takes a person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity. But his blood I will require from the hand of the watchman.

Now as for you, son of man: I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them from Me.

When I say to the wicked, “O wicked man, you shall surely die,” and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity. But his blood I will require from your hand.

The Holy Spirit has also been talking to me while I write this via memory (Jn. 14:26) from personal prophecies here on this website about God killing Christians on judgement day who stop serving Jesus, for whatever reason.

So, I want to put them up here for your understanding ...

Excerpt taken from my message, "What Time Is Jesus Coming Back?" I edited out my sentence refinement that's in What Time Is Jesus Coming Back and left only what the Lord originally said when I wrote it.

The following are the words of the risen Lord Jesus, God's Son, talking by prophecy,

"I want My people to know when I'm coming. I'm using you because you write what is told to you. I'm coming on the last day of the Feast of Trumpets when that one is in control. I'm coming within one to three years from when his reign begins. Israel will keep the Feasts."

"It's going to be the beginning of a wedding that will be simulated in the skies. They're going to see what they're doing in the sky. They're going to hear Me call. It's the beginning of the rapture."

"Read about the Feast of Trumpets. It's going to be a party starting in heaven that goes to the end of the day and when night comes, there'll be no devil at the end wishing for the chair of the Lord to reign".

"I told you when I'm coming back. So, you better be ready with your church! Or I'm going to cut you in pieces and throw you in Hades with the devil!"

There is also another prophecy from the Lord from 2021 that the Lord warns about chopping bad Christians up on Judgement Day. Excerpts taken from my message, "The Return of the Messiah".

The following are the words of God the Father spoken by prophecy,

"There's a storm coming, Darrin. Tell them about that storm. This storm is the Rapture," says the God of Heaven, to you and me.

"Say,

The Lord is sending a tempest. When you see the sky open and black clouds coming forth, and you hear the trumpet sounding, bow down and say, 'Amen'! It is the return of the Messiah for the redeemed! This tempest is like the one they saw on Mount Sinai (when God gave Moses the Ten Commandments). "

"I am He who speaks now to you in Heaven through this Angel/Man, Darrin Pegram. He is in the clouds now hearing my song of Moses in black darkness of the sky. So, return to Me before I come, or I will thrust you through for not bowing down to Me and My Son's Throne in Heaven," says God, watching man through His hole in the air that you cannot see.

In closing, the Holy Spirit wants me to tell you something,

"Motion is the cure for grief".

Thus says the Lord,

"How hard it is to get up and fight when you're in pain" ...

"How am I going to stand before the Lord and start witnessing again ... the Lord has cast upon me pain and swine from the fields and I am covered in the muck and the mire. I cannot stand because I am paralyzed with grief and the Lord has me upon the sick bed of death ... I am waiting for the lion {1 Pt. 5:8} to wander in and devour me before the Lord ... and yet I see the dawn coming in my lattice with fresh strength from the Lord. The Lord strengthens my ankles and my knees with His Light and hope makes me to stand before Him in the presence of my enemies ... and when I turned, behold, the lion was backing out of my door and the Lord slammed the door and I saw one shepherd's staff and rod ..."

"Motion is the cure for grief. Your pain will dissipate when you get up and serve Me. No pain, no gain, My child ... bless when it hurts, My child," says the Lord ...

Grief Stricken

Grief paralyzes you. The emotional pain keeps you bedridden. Paralyzed with pain. When you're grief stricken and hurting, you don't want to do nothing but lay there until you feel better. Time heals all wounds. Healing takes time. This is why God said that motion is the cure for grief.

This means that when grief makes your body just want to lay there, to cure yourself, you start moving around and doing things. Like cleaning the house, laundry, errands. When you begin to move your body when you're grief stricken, the motion will cure the grief. That feeling to just lay there will be broken off you by moving your body around.
