Love & Forgiveness

Updated: Aug 17, 2023

This story is about what God means to forgive.

Recently, while upset with my wife, God was supporting whatever I wanted to do with her. Reject or reconcile. He told me to write and tell her to stop talking to me. But I thought it more important to love her cos she won't be able to handle not talking to me, and, I also still wanted her. My feelings were gone enough to stop talking to her. But she wouldn't be able to handle it. So, God said,

"You just forgave her".

Philippians 2:1-5 Authorized (King James) Version

{Paraphrased} 1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 fulfil my joy. That you be likeminded {toward one another}, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory. But in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others {of his wife}. 5 Let this mind {of the Holy Ghost} be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

Our love is spiritual. Our love is a gift from God. Our love is not human feelings. No matter how much our feelings for each other die, there is still a love there. No matter what we go through. We still are in love after it all. The human love may be gone, but God's love is still there.

How can feelings be gone but love still be there? Because our love is spiritual. Not human feelings.

When you love, you forgive. Forgiveness is a decision. As soon as I chose to love her, I forgave her the second of that choice. This is what Jesus means when He says that we commit adultery in the heart. The thoughts are what count with God. God is trying to tell us in the Bible that forgiveness and adultery, and any other issue, is committed in the heart with the thoughts before the act.

Matthew 5:27-28 Authorized (King James) Version

{Paraphrased} 27 {And Jesus said} "You have heard that it was said by them of old time, 'You shall not commit adultery'. 28 But I say to you, 'That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart'".

Sow a thought, reap an act.

Sow an act, reap a habit.

Sow a habit, reap a character.

Sow a character, reap a destiny.

The archangel Gabriel says about this message,

"Before you take a step,

Make sure your thoughts are right with God

Or you're going to fall."

The Apostle Paul wrote:

Ephesians 5:22-33 Authorized (King James) Version

{Paraphrased} 22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, and He is the savior of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it; 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word. 27 That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing. But that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh. But nourishes and cherishes it. Even as the Lord the church. 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery. But I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself, and the wife see that she {respects} her husband.

World without end. Amen.

For people who don't see my wife with me, she's in another state and I'm leaving to her next week. I'm not coming back to North Dakota. We are in contact right now by cell towers and internet. Sorry it didn't work out with the women in North Dakota. You're too prejudiced for me.

"Why do divorces happen?

Simply because couples are not ready to forgive each other"!

Matthew 19:1-9 Living Bible

{Paraphrased} 1 After Jesus had finished this address, He left Galilee and circled back to Judea from across the Jordan River. 2 Vast crowds followed Him, and He healed their sick. 3 Some Pharisees came to interview Him and tried to trap Him into saying something that would ruin Him. “Do you permit divorce?” they asked. 4 “Don’t you read the Scriptures?” He replied. “In them it is written that at the beginning God created man and woman, 5-6 and that a man should leave his father and mother, and be forever united to his wife. The two shall become one—no longer two, but one! And no man may divorce what God has joined together.” 7 “Then, why,” they asked, “did Moses say a man may divorce his wife by merely writing her a letter of dismissal?” 8 Jesus replied, “Moses did that in recognition of your {hard, evil and unforgiving} hearts, but it was not what God had originally intended. 9 And I tell you this, that anyone who divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another, commits adultery.”
